Weekend Fun!

Friday 9/24

Shelby came over today. She worked from home while I relaxed for most of the day. I took a nap and woke up a little grumpy and not feeling good. I felt bad because Shelby was here, and she does so much for me. 

Shelby made dinner for Tom & I, but Tom had inventory and did NOT get home until late. So Shelby & I ate the yummy shrimp tacos early & saved some for Tom when he got home. 

Saturday 9/25

Today is one week on the Ibrance chemo pill. So far, I have not experienced any side effects. I’m praying for the side effects to continue to stay away. I start week two tonight and week three the following week. Then I take week four off. I pray the pill is doing its magic and taking care of putting the cancer to sleep.   🙏🏼 

Shelby and I decided to go to a fall festival close to Dylan’s house. We thought it would be nice for me to get out in the fresh air and the walking would be good exercise. We also got Mamma Sue out of the house. Well, when we got to the farm where the festival was being held, there was a 45-minute wait in the car line JUST to get in the parking lot. We said, “no way are we going to wait in our cars for 45 minutes”!  So we had to figure out some new plans. 

We decided to visit Dylan, and I’m glad we did! We enjoyed some time outside in his backyard while he cleaned up an air purifier to let me borrow. I’m going to put it in the bedroom to clean up the air. I may get another one for the living room. I need to keep the house clean while my immune system is compromised. 

After Dylan’s, we ventured to Bucees. It was a bit packed, so I wore my mask. I don’t need any funk at this point in my life! I picked up a BBQ club sandwich that was to die for. I didn’t think I could eat it all, but I did. 🐽 My mom & Shelby enjoyed their sandwiches as well. 

 Then we ventured to Hobby Lobby & the andThat! store for more orange decorations — like I need more fall decor. But again, shopping gets me & mom out of the house and a little walking exercise. Bethany Joy ended up joining us at our last stop. When we got home, we were exhausted!!!

We sat down to watch the Gator game but could only make it to 1\2 time. The game was fun to watch. Go Gators  🐊 🧡💙

Sunday 9/26

Good morning Sunday! It was such a brisk morning, and it felt like football weather. Shelby cooked us a delicious quiche. 

Shelby & I watched ElevateLife Church on YouTube. I really enjoy the messages the pastor speaks about each week. He captures the viewer’s attention. Even though I’m Catholic, I still like to watch ElevateLife Church because of the upbeat singers & real-life examples of The Bible writing. 

Tom & I were invited over to our friends Nicole and Bill’s house for some delicious Italian food. Nicole’s dad, Papa Rocco, is in town, and he made my favorite eggplant. We also had clam sauce, garlic bread, delicious salad, which I always love, and lots of appetizers. Michelle & Kaden hung out with us too. It was so good to see everyone!!!

Of course, we watched the Jaguars game and were disappointed again, but what are you gonna do? The team is in a building year which always seems to be the excuse. I’m still a fan no matter what their record is. ️ 🐆🏈🔵⚫️ During 1/2 time, we took a walk ( I think the walk was 1/2 mile, and I need to get up to 2 miles!). It was so beautiful outside! And yes! I am one of those who bought a Tebow jersey. I just ❤️ Tebow !!! Typically I buy anything Tebow and am darn proud of it!!
