It’s been a months since I have posted to give you an update. I have been very busy which is a good thing and I’m not complaining. Life has been good and remission is giving me hope.
“Our God is greater than all things. How great they art how great thou art” was one of the hymns sang at a church service I watched and how true is the song! I’m very blessed everyday to be in remission and be able to continue to spend time with my husband, kids, parents, brother, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins and bestest of friends! God keeps hope alive. I have grown closer to God during my journey and I truly believe he is alive and will take care of me no matter what!
So what have I been doing? Working sleeping and living ! That what it’s all about. Staying positive, trying to eat right, praying, taking my meds and living day by day.
The week after Easter my brother got married. It was a small intimate wedding on the beach. He married Dana on the beach in Fernandina amongst a few of our families and friends. On my way home from the wedding I could barely keep my eyes open. The fresh air just kicked my butt. I got home and slept just about the rest of the afternoon. I loved the beach! I wish Curtis and Dana the best of luck with their new life together.
As you might imagine, since I’m feeling better the concerts are starting back up. Why not? I have to be careful when I go, can’t be all cray cray like I used to be. Shelby, Teri, Nicole and I went to Daytona beach to see BK (Brian Kelly) from Florida Georgia Line. He is the blond of the duo. He is from Ormond Beach, Florida. We really wanted to support him because he’s from Florida. Plus he’s got some great beachy type songs. We went to the concert and back to our hotel room. Then we got a phone call…my sister’s dog Dottie girl was having a hard time breathing. So Shelby drove Teri home that night. Sadly, the following day, my sister’s dog Dottie girl passed away. It was so sad that she passed and my heart ached for Teri & Rich. Dottie loved everyone! When you knocked on Teri’s door Dottie would sit and wag her little tail until you petted her. We will miss her so much. She was the best dog and We loved her dearly. This is a picture of her when she was a baby. I hope she is happy in dog heaven.
My Uncle Alex got me tickets to go see Travis Tritt. I was so happy he did that for me. Teri, Nicole and I went to a fabulous dinner beforehand at a restaurant named BB’s. I have lived in Jax my whole life (minus 3 years Tom & I briefly moved to VA and NC) and NEVER heard of this place. It’s down off Hendricks Ave almost to Prudential Dr. The food and staff were amazing. But the desert was to die for! After getting our bellies full we made our way to the Florida Theater to watch Travis. Much to our surprise his opening act was great! Be on the look out for an up & coming group called Crawford and Power.
For Mother’s Day Tom, Shelby, Teri and I ran in the Donna 5k. It was a lot of fun! When then had a get together with family for dinner. Mitchell Tenpenny, one of the artists we love, requested pictures for a video and Shelby submitted a picture of us! And we made the cut! You can find us around 2:27. Such a sweet loving thing to do!
We had a party for Shelby on May 21st! She turned 26! I can not believe it. It was a good time and great to get all the family together.
Tom and I took a little mini staycation and Tom remodeled out dining room and painted my moms old china cabinet for me. Yes it’s all a bit white but o love it! Tom did an amazing Jon knocking off the popcorn ceiling and updating with knock down texture. He is the Jack of all trades and can do anything!
