My Sister Is Here!!

Monday 10/4/21-Friday 10/8/21

Monday, Bethany got a break and did not come over this week. 

Nicole came over to finish cleaning up my closet. I thought it was only gonna take an hour; boy, was I wrong! Nicole was in the closet for over 4 hours, but it looks amazing! I just sat in the chair, letting her know what to donate. Altogether, I donated 7 bags of stuff! Let’s see how long I can keep my closet this organized. It is much easier for me to get in and out of my closet without fear of falling or bending. 

Teri & Rich arrived around 8 pm. She has a beautiful lab named Delilah. She’s so big we call her “Deli Meat and Cheese.” LOL. She also has a little dachshund named Dottie girl. I was really scared about how three dogs in the house would get along, but amazingly they all got along so well, and we’re very well behaved. She also has a saltwater tank. They had to set up as soon as they got here to keep their saltwater fish and corals alive! We got done around 10 o’clock setting the saltwater tank up. I say “we”…but I had no parts of that! I sat in the chair holding Dottie girl and dodging Deli. I put my back brace on just in case. I don’t want to mess up the back. 

Over the weekend, Tom cooked barbecue chicken and a pork roast. We saved it so we would have dinner prepared when Teri and Rich stayed at our house. I also made a few side items. It is good to be back to cooking side items. 

Teri and Rich close on their new house in Saint Augustine on Wednesday. So they will stay with us until then. 

10/5 Tuesday 

I had to meet with the pain management doctor at 7:30 am! He is all the way in Saint Augustine on Anastasia Island. But he is a fantastic pain management doctor. Basically, I have to pee in a cup, and then I can get my meds for the next month. Fun stuff, I tell you.

Nothing really exciting happened Tuesday. We just sat and talked and waited for dinner. It was actually good for Teri and Rich to do nothing. It is incredible how much work they’ve done over the past month to get back to Jax so quickly. I am so happy to have them home and only 17 miles away!

I stayed by myself all day and gave Dylan a break. Teri and Rich left in the morning to close on their house. They took their dogs with them. I just relaxed all day until Tom got home to take me to see their new home.

I put my back brace on and walked a mile with Rusty. It was amazing. I went at 8:30 am so the weather was nice. I was not able to fall asleep during nap time. I guess the walk gave me lots of energy. I need to keep up walking!!

I did cook dinner for everyone and took it over to Teri’s new home so everyone helping them unpack could have a home-cooked meal!

10/7 Thursday

I stayed at home by myself again. I gave Shelby a break! I got caught up talking to my friends Cheryl and Karen. I did not go for a walk because I was lazy. However, I took a nap!  

My friend Andrea came by and cut some clippings from my plants in the backyard. She said it would be special to have some plants from my backyard put into her backyard. I hope the plants all take root and live long lives!  

After she picked the clippings, she drove me out to Teri & Rich’s house. 

I’m not much help unpacking Teri & Rich’s house, but I can sit and pet the dogs. I’m also good at eating dinner. Lol. 

10/8 Friday

Shelby took me to Baptist South for bloodwork. I’m almost done with my first round of chemo. I think I’m beginning to feel very tired, which is one of the side effects. It’s that, or I’m bored. I will say resting sure makes my back feel better. 

Last night I wore my night guard on my top teeth. Since I’m receiving Xgeva treatment, my teeth must be in good condition. I grit my teeth at night, and the dentist has wanted me to wear a night guard for years. Well, thank you, cancer, now I am 😡

My friend Cheryl came by to drop off a new book for me to read! It’s about a cancer patient. I can’t wait to start reading!!

My friend Susan dropped by for a nice visit. I enjoyed spending time with her talking about our shows surrounding bachelor!!

I will be spending some time at my sister’s house this weekend. We get to go shopping for new appliances for her new house!!! Hoping there are some good sales this weekend. Also, watch football, of course. She’s going to be tired of us coming by and visiting!!
