Full Week of Fun!

Monday 9/20

Today I went to visit my friend Cheryl who has taken care of me during this sickness. She is now caring for her 85-year-old mother, who has been battling Pneumonia for weeks! Today her mamma was a spitfire, so we think she’s on the mends. It was good to visit them and get out of the house for a while.

I did not take a nap, and my back is hurting a bit. Soooooo. I’m going to eat dinner, take a warm shower, take my 3rd dose of Ibrance, and hit the crib!! I hope to be able to sleep through the night like I did last night.

I think the bladder pills might be kicking in! I don’t get up in the middle of the night to pee as much (I know, TMI).

Tuesday 9/21

My son Dylan came over today to take care of me. He also drove me down to MD Anderson to meet with the pelvic physical therapist. She gave me lots of homework to keep practicing. She put me on a schedule to pee every two hours! We are trying to retrain my bladder, isn’t this crazy science! I have to get my bladder under control so that I can get the necessary rest I need from the chemo pills. They want me to sleep through the night and only have to use the bathroom once a night. I’m not so sure I’m going to get there, but we are going to try.

After our appointment, we had lunch at Moe’s, which is Dylan’s favorite restaurant. LOL. I have to say it was delicious. I just got the salad with steak, and it was so much. I ended up eating it for lunch and later for dinner.

When we got home, he had to work, and I just relaxed on the couch!

Wednesday 9/22

Today was an exciting day. My friend Andrea picked me up, and then we went and picked up my friend Susan. We went out to eat at Palm Valley Fish Camp. I had the salmon platter, which comes with mashed potatoes & grilled green beans and tomatoes. It was so good & I finished EVERYTHING on my plate like a good girl.

Then we made our way to Ponte Vedra beach lodge to watch the beautiful ocean. Before we knew it, hours had passed. We really enjoyed catching up, laughing, talking about old times, and spending time together. My back was on fire after getting home, but it was worth it to see my buddies.

Times like this I cherish.  I hope we get to do this more often.

I think I’m going to start taking pictures & posting them on my blog!!

Thursday 9/23

Oh, happy day!  My friend Nicole came by today to help me with chores around the house, take me to the dentist, and then to lunch.  But….we made a pit stop and went into TJMax for some fall shopping. Again my favorite time of the year for everything ORANGE.  A little bit of retail therapy and walking exercise.

We had lunch at my favorite Tidbits. It was Nicole’s 1st time there, and now she understands why I ♥️ tidbits!!

Nicole dropped me off at my mom’s house so we could visit for a while. I took her a treat from tidbits too. She was thrilled.

I had a zoom call with my friends, Sandy and Andrea, from work. We have been meeting a couple of times a month since the whole Covid work from home started. These work buddies have received late night and early morning calls from me with the news of my cancer. They keep me strong!! 💪🏻

Tom, Dylan,  Bethany, and I went to dinner at Hurricanes. Yummy grilled wings, broccoli, cilantro rice, and coleslaw. Thankfully, the chemo has not curbed my appetite yet. 🐽

We missed Shelby since she had other plans. 🥲Family dinners are the best!!!
