Over COVID!

At the end of my last post, Our Family Vaca, I talked about clearing out my house on New Year’s Day with COVID symptoms. Well, Saturday night, I could not find any at-home tests, so I went to a care spot on Sunday & they only had walk-in appointments available. The wait was 5 hours — in my car! There was a parking lot full of Covid patients waiting to be tested!!! So I sat in the parking lot drinking my Dunkin coffee & chatting with my mother-in-law. I was nervous nelly because my mom & mother in law were in my house Saturday when my symptoms started. I was so scared that if I tested positive for Covid, they would catch it too. Needless to say, the appointment was not a 5-hour wait. I got in within 3 hours and, yes, tested positive.

Given that I have metastatic breast cancer, the doctor recommended I get the antibody treatment. I LUCKILY got an appointment Monday at 9:00 am. The treatment center is limited on the number of appointments each day. I think only 45 patients a day. Florida Governor, DeSantis, is trying to get more antibody treatments sent to Florida — so that people who have certain illnesses like diabetes, cancer, heart conditions, obesity, and others can get the treatment and heal quicker from Covid. I’m thankful I did the treatment because I was symptom-free after 4 – 5 days.

The rest of the family was 1/2 Covid positive and 1/2 Covid negative. It’s so weird how Covid spreads to some people & others have great antibodies that fight it off. I won’t go into who did or didn’t get Covid in my family, but those who got it seemed to experience a glorified cold, some with and others without the fever. Everyone is on amends.

This week was the 1st week back to work, where I actually worked full-time hours. I got a lot of work done, but I was VERY tired. It’s also a struggle to sit, stand, walk around, and take breaks when I need them. Luckily I have a job where I can make my schedule flexible. But I like to work during the core hours of my company. So I try my best to keep the schedule 8-4:15. Taking my lunch @ 12 and then walking the dog right after work. Then when I get home from the walk, I have to cook my fresh organic dinner close to the whole 30 diet plan as much as possible.

Thursday, I went and got an IV of Vitamin C AND Glutathione. I felt very good after the treatment. It gives you a little pep in your step and helps your immune system, which I need.

Friday night Shelby, Teri,  Nicole, and I went to Cantina Louie for happy hour/dinner. We had not all been together since our Christmas baking night. We talked & laughed and caught up on everything for over 4 hours! Exciting plans were made that night!

Saturday I spent the morning working for an hour. Then I picked up Teri and Shelby & we went to downtown St. Augustine. It was a beautiful day, so everyone was out and about. It felt wonderful to be out in the open and walking the streets of the ancient city. We went to Dylan’s for dinner. Dylan made chicken and ribs, and it was fantastic! We then played a game and watched the football game. It was a good time. By all now, we are feeling better, and those who had Covid are symptom-free.

Sunday, I watched church. After church, I took and helped my mom with her meds. Then she and I went grocery shopping. It was a bit chilly outside, so I made us some yummy chili for dinner later. Tom and I watched football all day. Between watching football, we got laundry done.

My friend Cheryl is not feeling good, so I took her some chili, hoping she gets to feeling better soon. The yucky stuff going around needs to stop! The world is OVER IT!

Next week I get my blood work done and see the cancer, PA Stephanie. Hoping my numbers are good and still doing what they are supposed to do. It’s in God’s hands. I know he has me on this earth for a bit longer. Praying every day and night for his healing hands. 🙏 🙏
