So I was walking around the farmers market in St. Augustine one Saturday when I saw a tent for EF! What is EF you may ask? EF is a global company that does exchange students. We have done participated in this program for a few years and have hosted 5 kids in the past. However, we have not hosted anyone for about 10 years. Well…I got talked into not only hosting 1, but hosting 2 girls! One from Spain and one from Italy. Also, while talking to Dylan and Bethany one night, yep, they got talked into hosting a girl from spain as well. So the Scanlon family came to the rescue and hosted 3 girls. I have to say it was a bit hard for me. I was exhausted running them around. But hopefully they enjoyed there time in Florida! The Day they came in was Dylan’s birthday. So we all went out to dinner at Millers ale house. They were a bit scared to order but I would feel the same way in a foreign country. Poor Dylan had to share his birthday with the girls coming into town.
The 1st thing we did with them was take them to a country music concert. We had tickets to see Josh Turner. I’m not so sure they liked it but it was an experience I told them!
I could go on and on about what we did with them. But I will give you a cliff note version:
- Birthday party’s
- Beach
- 4th of July fireworks
- Florida springs
- Sharks football game with Sonny’s BBQ tailgate
- St. Augustine
- Tubing in St. John’s river
- Dinner
- Ice cream
They left us on July 26 and we were sad to see them go. I have so many pictures but I won’t flood you with them!
