November 22-30
Sorry, I’m late writing this. I have been very busy. Lol
It’s very nice Tom has off this week for some relaxing staycation. Not…….
No, really…he has a honey-do list the size of Florida. The poor guy has so many things going on relaxation is not part of the picture. He did a lot of work in the yard but still has a little more to go. It’s going to be awesome when it’s all done. I went back to work 1/2 day. So I get to spend time with him when I get off work. But I do not disturb the backyard party he is having. I can not do the crazy stuff he does, but I can take him water and make him lunch. Sometimes he needs help from me, and I get so mad! He forgets I had two back surgeries and have lifting limitations.
Thanksgiving was awesome. My sister Teri and her husband Rich hosted our thanksgiving. We had lots of food and fellowship. The only hiccup was Tom tried to fry a ham but…. he burnt the s$&*! out of it. Luckily he took some meat off the spiral ham for the folks watching their weight. We also had two turkeys, so there was plenty of meat. Every family has crazies. My mom holds that title in our family. After we all finished dinner, she cracked us up by saying, “I’m not going to leave the dinner table until I get deserts!”. She loves herself some deserts.
I’m not supposed to have a lot of carbs or sugar due to my cancer-fighting diet. However, I had to eat a little bit of everything. It just so happens the little bit of everything filled my large dinner plate and dessert plate. I have to get back on track. Family means everything to me, and I have a great one!
The day after thanksgiving we met up with my Dad during his lunch break. It was so fun to visit with him even though it was only for an hour. I cherish these days!

Saturday, we watched the Florida Gators vs. Florida State Seminoles football rivalry at Dylan and Bethany’s house. I’m very proud of the Gators for pulling through even with the loss of their head coach. We live in a split house, and the boys were not happy. The ladies (except Bethany…she doesn’t care) we’re thrilled! After the game, we built a nice campfire. I got to swing on their tree swing, and I loved it!

Sunday was a catch-up day. Good ole laundry and household chores. I also started reading A new book, No Cure For Being Human, my friend Cheryl bought me. It’s an excellent read by a lady named Kate Bowler, who is also fighting cancer. At such a young age, 35, Kate learned her body was covered in cancer and was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer that began in the colon. She has been through so much, including several doctors! I’m so happy she is still alive today! I’ve learned that I’m not alone going through stage 4 cancer by reading lots of books. I’ve also learned that it’s essential to keep being positive and hopeful. But let’s also keep it real. This disease sucks!! I may look good, but I don’t necessarily feel good. I’m living my life at a slower pace than I used to. I’m hoping and praying my cancer has stopped growing and stopped spreading. While I seem very positive, I continue to worry if the Chemo medications and radiation did and continue to do what it’s supposed to do.
Friday I will be getting new scans. Keep me in your prayers please!
