Back to Work

Week of 11/15-11/21

My friend Cheryl took me off on Monday morning. Of course we went out for lunch and then we spent the afternoon in hobby lobby picking up Christmas decorations. We had a lot of fun hanging out and acting crazy as we normally do. But it is a lot of fun to decorate and get ready for the holidays! I forgot to take a picture of our overflowing buggies.

Wednesday I went to the surgeon for my 90 day follow up on my second back surgery. He reviewed the x-ray and said that it looks fine and that I can ditch my back brace. This is great news I’m so thrilled to not have to wear that back brace out and about anymore. If I think there’s going to be large crowds though I will wear it. He also okayed me to go back to work but recommended I do maybe half a days for a little while so I will be working half a days until January 3.

Thursday I went back to work for a half a day and at the end of the day half a day I was glad the doctor suggested going back to work only for a half a days. I was very tired after a half a day. Of course first things first I had to get back my security to be able to get into my work laptop. Believe it or not it only took about 45 minutes or so I figured I’d be on the phone all day. I met with my boss Jackie for about 30 minutes she filled me in on all the changes and then I met with my team for another 30 minutes so it was really good to see everybody.

Friday I had the day scheduled off for an out of town excursion with the girls. We went to see Kip Moore in Myrtle Beach South Carolina‘s House of blues. I felt really safe going to this concert because they required a vaccination or a negative test for Covid. I also kept my mask on except when I was eating or drinking. I also wore my brace for extra protection. The opening act was a man named Larry Fleet. Never heard of them before but he was really good. He happened to walk through the crowds so I snapped a picture with him lol. I promise I was wearing my mask it doesn’t seem as though with all these pictures lol It was a very nice evening and we had lots of fun.

Saturday we shopped until we could drop. I kid you not we left the condo at 11 o’clock and did not return home until after 8 o’clock. I was simply exhausted. We went to have   Lunch at Paula Deen’s restaurant. It was so good and so Southern. Fried chicken, collard greens, green beans, broccoli casserole, seafood gumbo, delicious desserts, and yummy biscuits. I was not eating whole 30 diet that’s for sure. After, we went walking through Broadway at the beach and did a little retail therapy shopping. We wrapped up the night at a restaurant called Grumpy Monk’s and I had the best chicken wings ever. They smoked the wings instead of frying them or making them buffalo. They were very good. Needless to say when I got home I did a little stretching with Shelby and took my medication and off to sleep I went. Shelby and Nicole did as well.

Sunday we drove home from Myrtle Beach and I got to have dinner with the family. Tom is on vacation next week. I’m off Monday Thursday and Friday. Tuesday and Wednesday I work half a day hopefully I can get through the rest of the 1600 emails. I’m looking forward to Thanksgiving week and spending time with the family eating good food as usual.
