Bethany Joy came to take care of me today while she worked from home. I did not have any doctor appointments, but she came over anyway. As always, she helped me with laundry. Then we had to take a ride for her work. On the way home, we stopped at Jason\u2019s deli for lunch. We both LOVE the salad bar and the ice cream treat as we walked out the door. Ibrance still has not curbed my appetite, thank goodness!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I did come home and take a nap! I feel so bad when the kids come over and run me around, I get to take a nap, but they don\u2019t. \u2639\ufe0f<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bethany left after Tom got home, then she took my mom to pick up some prescriptions. Her caregiver kindness never ends! \u2764\ufe0f<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tuesday 9\/28<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dylan came over bright and early to take me to my LAST pelvic PT appointment at MD Anderson. The appointment was at 8:15. Who the heck schedules an appointment that early and during rush hour????<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I will say the PT and the overactive bladder pill the urologist put me on have helped me tremendously. However, today the PT asked me a question that made me a little sad. She asked, \u201cDo you have anything on your bucket list since your diagnosis?\u201d What kind of question is that to ask someone? I said to her, \u201cI have not specifically made a bucket list, but my goal is to live 20 more years!\u201d Then she replied, \u201cthat\u2019s on your bucket list.\u201d It hurt my feelings a little bit. It puts things into perspective — you don\u2019t know when this disease will take your life. I don\u2019t have a bucket list, but I want to see the Grand Canyon, maybe Yellowstone National park. I want to be able to make it to Spain for my exchange student Victoria\u2019s wedding. It made me start thinking, that\u2019s for sure. We always go to the keys, and that\u2019s our happy place, but other than that, I really don\u2019t know where I\u2019d want to go or what I\u2019d wanna do. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
After the appointment, Dylan and I went out for breakfast. Then I got my car washed; it was much needed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dylan put Rusty on his leash when we got home, and we went for a mile walk. Then Dylan washed Rusty\u2019s bedding & bathed him! He said the room smelled like a dog! Haha. It\u2019s all smelling like roses now!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dylan finally got to start working from home after helping me all morning. When Tom got home, Dylan left & took my mom to pick up another prescription. His caregiving kindness never ends! \u2764\ufe0f Thank God for Dylan!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wednesday 9\/29<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bethany Joy came this morning to run me to Bremer Brace of Florida. Shortly after I came home from rehab (after surgery), I had an incident where my right knee buckled while I was standing at the mirror brushing my hair\/teeth. The doctor told me to tell him anything that happens, even if it\u2019s something minor. I called about this knee buckling. Come to find out, he ordered me a knee brace that would make my leg straight all the time. I thought that was a little extreme so did the prosthetics doctor at Bremer Brace. Instead, he recommended I go to Dick\u2019s Sporting Goods and get a Shock Doctor knee brace with hinges that will steady my knee but not make it stiff to walk. So I came home and looked up the brace on Amazon, and it will be here in 2 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bethany & I stopped cat WaWa because I needed gas in my car. It was my first time stopping at the new one on Racetrack. We picked up a breakfast Panini & free coffee (because it was national coffee day!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
